Sharing Stories and Building Connections in the Kharkiv Region

Recently, we had the privilege of visiting a village in the Kharkiv region that had been under occupation. It was a meaningful and emotional visit, marked by open conversations and heartfelt moments with local teenagers.

One of the most impactful parts of our trip was the opportunity to share our journals with the teens. As soon as we handed them out, their excitement was immediate. They eagerly flipped through the pages, discovering a space designed for reflection, self-expression, and fresh ideas.

For many of these young people, the journals were more than just notebooks—they became a symbol of being seen, heard, and supported. It meant a lot to them that someone genuinely cared about their voices, their experiences, and their dreams.

Their warm reaction reminded us just how powerful simple gestures can be. A journal may seem small, but it can spark curiosity, encourage self-reflection, and offer young people a place to write their own stories—especially in communities that have gone through difficult times.

This visit was a heartfelt reminder that small actions can lead to meaningful impact. We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome, the open conversations, and the chance to bring something valuable to these incredible teens.
